Christmas Update - Wednesday, 28 December 2011

Just like you my Christmas break was sunbathing one day then snuggling under the blankets the next.

The cooler mornings, made me inclined to sleep in. Before breakfast in Room 11 I usually clean my ears, and wash myself. I like to put my best paw forward and the Lady in Room 11 is still clocking up ZZZ’s so I try to crunch my cat biscuits quietly. The biscuits are a different variety and I like the change.

Then it’s off to see the fellow in 17 for a bit of a chat before he takes his early morning walk and social visits. He calls in on everyone for a hearty good morning chat. The lady in 14 always welcomes me in she hasn’t had any snacks for me of late she has to go shopping.

I sometimes stop for a snooze in the arm chair in room 16 before I venture outside to sit on the grass for a while, I am watchful for snakes and also the cat next door. We are not friends and have had several paw and claw cuffs.

Christmas was very nice this year - plenty of good cheer and cuddles and pats from residents and their visiting family and friends. I just love it here and this time of year. People don’t realise that cats played a important role in the biblical story setting of the birth of Christ. We kept the mice out of the stable.

Happy New Year, in the western and eastern worlds of the globe I am taking care that I observe all cultures as we do here at KMAC.

Another month of unsettled weather a mix of sunbathing one day then snuggling under the blankets the next. The windy conditions have kept the neighbourhood dogs inside and leaving me alone.

The lady in 14 always welcomes me in. If I enter her room before she is out of bed I am most considerate and patient until 6:30am when I jump on her bed and purr loudly to wake her. I have replaced her alarm clock. The lady has been post-christmas shopping and I have the most delicious array of treats on offer.

My ear treatment continues and my ears are now good and I have gained a little weight

I watch the residents planting their garden and decorating them with small statues. The flowers attract butterflies which I delight in chasing.
